About the Club
Three Chopt Flying Club, LLC is a social flying club operating out of Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport (KCHO). We were founded to create an opportunity for local pilots to come together and share their enthusiasm and interest in aviation.
We are a non-profit 501(c)(7) social club whose members fly together and attend social events together. We have Regular Members, who pay more in order to fly the aircraft, and an Associate Member level for family and social members.
We limit Regular Membership to a number that results in around 200 hours per year on each aircraft — roughly half what a rental fleet sees — which keeps the airplane available and in better condition.
Social life
We hold cookouts the first Saturday of each month from 11:30am–1:30pm outside the Charlottesville Flight Center at the airport. Prospective members are welcome to stop by; it is the easiest way to meet us with no commitment on either side.
The aircraft
The Club owns N3275F, a Mooney M20F: 156kts cruise at 75% power, 918nm range, IFR certified, with a Garmin GNS 430W, an S-Tec 30 two-axis autopilot, ADS-B out, and a CGR-30P engine monitor. Members fly it dry at $56.50 per tach hour.

How the Club is run
We have done a lot of work to ensure all of our members get fair use of the aircraft, that the aircraft are operated safely, and that the Club runs smoothly. The results are in our governing documents — the Operating Agreement, the Aircraft Use Rules, and the Scheduling Rules are all published in full.
We are currently interviewing prospective members.
